Leonardo da Vinci’s „Vitruvian Man“, a symbol of the aesthetics of the Renaissance, is one of the most famous drawings in history. Building up on Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, Mathias Kniepeiss developed the artwork “weROne“ in cooperation with 20 extraordinary skilled people. “weROne“ shows that we all belong to the same species, regardless of gender, country borders, age, skin colour, sexual orientation, religion and ethnicity. The image merges symbols and regularities from science, mathematics, religion, ethics, art, architecture and nature to motivate people towards a more attentive social interaction with their fellow human beings, their surroundings as well as the planet itself. “weROne“ symbolises freedom, equality, solidarity, tolerance, respect and shared responsibility.
